Today, we find ourselves in Zimbabwe for our Fresh Vibes Monday.  We will be watching Cynthia Mare's most recent video in which she sings about her late mother.  This song is one of remembrance and appreciation.  It is one in which we are reminded to appreciate those that we have in lives before it is too late.  This is a sober song. Beyond Ms. Mare's soulful voice, we find ourselves captivated by the simplicity of the video and the message ingrained within the music.  This song is called Zuva Rimwe.

Today's Fresh Vibes Monday features a duet from Americans Toni Braxton and Babyface on the song, 'Hurt You'. This song is off their upcoming duet album titled Love, Marriage & Divorce. The song on its own is a beautiful song about love and some of love's shortcomings which includes the urge to hurt when one has been hurt. It is a song about eventual reconciliation. For those who are having second thoughts or who might eventually want to go back to their loved one this song is for you. Now, for those like myself who grew up on music from Toni Braxton and Baby face and are super excited to see them singing together again, then we know we will definitely be getting this CD.

Have you heard  the song,”Touching Body” By J Martins and DJ Arafat? This song offers a fusion of Coupe Decale and Highlife beats and gets you dancing and grooving this Monday morning. Imagine, my excitement when I found out that this song also has a video on youtube. The video is a very simple one featuring a well groomed DJ Arafat and J Martins dancing with a couple of girls.

Fresh Vibes Monday: Omawumi - Warn Yourself (Nigeria)

We will be visiting Omawumi's Lasso Of Truth this Monday. Yes, we did an introduction a couple of months ago on the CD when it was so fresh, so clean (hope, I'm not dating myself with this statement) but today's bumping vibe will be on the video that was released a couple of weeks ago. This song is one of my favorites  from the 'lasso of truth' CD and it is called 'Warn Yourself'. It features a dancing Omawumi and her back up dancers doing 'shakara' (flirting by not seeming interested) with a guy who at the end of the day gets her. There are many things that are lovable about this video but let me start off  by listing some of what people might detest:

a) Omawumi's dressing. Multicolored Leggings with a short shirt. Not feeling it.

b) No Wizkid.

What I loved about this video:

a) Omawumi's confidence that she is so sexy.
